Overview
Helping the elderly and disabled in their homes! Assisting with daily tasks such as bathing/showering, toiletiing, dressing, personal hygeine, light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, errand running, etc.
Duties
- Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Provide meal preparation and ensure nutritional needs are met through cooking healthy meals.
- Offer reminders and assistance with medication as prescribed .
- Monitor, observe and report any changes in client health status.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote emotional well-being.
- Assist clients with mobility or transfers.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the home, adhering to hygiene standards.
- Document care provided and report any concerns or changes in client condition to family members or agency.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or senior care is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow them accurately.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Experience with medication administration is a plus.
- Strong cooking skills with an emphasis on meal preparation for special dietary needs.
- Ability to physically assist with standing and transferring.
- Excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy towards clients are essential qualities for this role.
- Must be reliable, trustworthy, and able to work independently while following instructions.
