What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN Primary Instructor for CNA-2 program position at Caregiver Training Institute?
At Caregiver Training Institute we offer quality training programs that are Oregon State Board of Nursing approved for Nursing Assistant-1 (NA-1), CNA-2, and Med Aide classes.
WE HAVE AN OPENING FOR A CNA-2 PRIMARY INSTRUCTOR
Specifics for the CNA-2 instructor position are:
The didactic portion of the program is one week. This entails lecture, videos, discussion, etc. The OSBN allows for up to 30 students maximum per class. Our class are very popular and the local hospitals sponsor students into our class with every cohort. When students enroll they are placed into their lab/clinical cohorts. Once the class is completed the labs begin. A lab cohort will spend one week in their lab, take their final and then proceed into the clinical setting with their clinical instructor.
All class and lab hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:30am to 4:00pm. The didactic portion of the program is with in-class students and students who are in the virtual classroom (zoom). The labs are on campus and in-person. Lab groups are no more than 10 students and they will be actively working on the required skills at the bedside, working in small groups, and viewing skills videos. On Friday of each lab week those students will take their final exam. It is the only day you would be working on a Friday and this would be from 7:30am-10:00am to proctor the test, go over student evaluations, and prepare them for the clinical rotation.
This is a full-time job about 30-32 hours a week. Schedules are set up back-to-back to accommodate the demand for this training.
This is a fun and rewarding position training nursing assistants for the acute care setting. Our orientation for positions is very thorough. You will be scheduled to attend a full class/lab rotation with another instructor to see how class is presented.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Per OSBN regulations the RN instructor who teaches the CNA-2 classroom must have at least ONE (1) YEAR of FULL TIME experience (or the equivalent in part time work) as an RN and have 1 full year of hospital nursing/bedside care experience. New Grads are not eligible for this position due to these regulations.
We strive for continuity of training and because of this we do ask that you are able to be in the scheduled time for the entire schedule.
You will be required to apply discipline as needed, complete the documentation as required by the OSBN, and offer a professional attitude as well as emulate what nursing is all about for the students. You will enforce all policies of the school, this may include counseling of the students, documentation of infractions, and potentially dismissing a student from class should they refuse to participate and follow the rules.
We are looking for nurses who have multiple skill-sets and are seasoned in the nursing profession. You will be expected to act in a professional manner, be patient with the students, you must be able to explain curriculum content effectively, and demonstrate all skills to the students during labs.
