Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to provide essential support to a happy and full-spirited 25-year-old male with some intellectual and developmental disabilities in his residence. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing their quality of life, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. This role entails assisting with daily living activities, including cooking, overseeing household tasks, and providing a supportive environment tailored to his specific needs. This is a significant responsibility that should be highly valued, respected, and honored. The individual resides in a private, gated community. Additionally, when community day staff are unavailable, you can cover and work extra hours with pay to cover the shift.
Shifts available:
Day/Evening shifts: 7am to 10am, 4pm to 9pm, and 9pm to 7am Duties: Variable duties depending on shift hours.
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Support with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals.
- In charge of housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe living environment. As well as laundry duties.
- Help out with mobility when necessary.
- Monitor and document changes in clients' health or behavior, reporting any concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Work collaboratively with family members and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
Experience
- Previous experience in home health care, assisted living, or nursing home settings is required.
- Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of direct support techniques and social work principles is beneficial.
- A background in caregiving or related fields that emphasizes resident rights and care practices is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with clients are essential.
