What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer Opportunity: Respite Group Support Staff position at Caregiver OneCall?
About Caregiver OneCall
Caregiver OneCall is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing free, 24/7 caregiver navigation and support services to family caregivers nationwide. We connect caregivers to the resources, referrals, and guidance they need, at any hour, for any caregiving situation. Because no caregiver should have to do this alone.
We are looking for compassionate, experienced volunteers to help us relaunch and staff our weekly respite groups, providing much-needed relief to family caregivers while creating a safe, engaging space for their loved ones living with dementia.
What You’ll Do
As a Respite Group Volunteer, you will support the weekly group experience for persons with dementia. Shifts are 5 hours and include setup and cleanup. A consistent weekly schedule is preferred. This is meaningful, hands-on work that directly supports family caregivers in our community.

* Antioch: Saturdays
* West County: Location and schedule TBD
We are seeking volunteers who meet the following criteria:
* Must be 18 years of age or older
* Prior experience in senior care, healthcare, or a related medical field
* Comfort working with individuals with cognitive impairment
* Ability to commit to a consistent weekly schedule
Training Provided
All selected volunteers will receive in-person dementia-specific training led by a Certified Dementia Practitioner, as well as virtual training covering caregiving basics. You will be fully prepared before your first shift.
