Resp & Qualifications
PURPOSE:
Delivers process support and serves as a technical resource in complex process development, troubleshooting, process optimization, and scaling up initiatives. Creates baseline process maps, identifies inefficiencies, and re-designs and re-imagines the process to deliver superior customer experiences.
The Senior Process Engineer ensures the quality of controls, processes, and programs adhere to CareFirst's policies, standards and regulations and are continuously improving.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Function as a liasion between IT and Audit, Corporate Risk, and Business Partners to facilitate on-going Quality activities (e.g. internal and external audits, assessments, issue remediation, etc.).
Participate with Value Stream Leads, Program and Project teams members to drive process adherence.
Assist in Quality Initiative activities to enhance rigor and structure of controls.
Provide quality expertise during Root Cause Analysis investigations.
Assists with day-to-day support of Quality activities within IT Division
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze gaps, and document processes.
Acts as a process owner and designs, implements and optimizes processes.
Operationalize and maintain routine operating processes.
Performs validation activities on existing and new processes.
Collects and analyzes data from existing processes and identifies improvement strategies.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certified ASQ Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
Experience: 5 years relevant process engineering experience or demonstrated ability to perform the functions at the level required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Root Cause Analysis Techniques (5-Whys, Fishbone, 8D, etc).
- 5 years experience within a Quality Department.
- Understanding of relevant security frameworks (e.g. NIST, HiTRUST, FedRAMP, ISO, etc.).
- Proficient in Waterfall, Hybrid and Agile environments.
- Ability to train and mentor others.
- Strong team-building skills, exhibit strong initiative, and possess comprehensive verbal and written communication/presentation skills.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Ability to motivate others and foster a culture of continuous improvement and agile execution.
- Knowledge of process engineering methods and evaluation criteria.
- Knowledge of process improvement techniques.
- Knowledge of process mapping and documentation techniques.
- Ability to work with data and analytics.
- Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
