JOB SUMMARY:  

This position plans, coordinates, and administers programs and manages the operational program team with a focus on customer satisfaction, program performance goals, and job placement. It also develops, coordinates, and advises on policy and creates procedures related to specified programs. The person filling this position will interact directly with local Businesses, all departments, the board of directors, partner agencies, and the general public.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

In coordination with the CPPO, the Career Services Coordination will:

  • Coordinate and facilitate One Stop activities related to service delivery of the WIOA Adult and Dislocated Worker Programs.
  • Provide leadership for assigned team by providing programmatic training, mentorship, coaching, motivation, direction, and counseling to staff on their job responsibilities.
  • Conduct routine staff meetings to review status of projects, discuss challenges, review project successes, and milestone achievement.
  • Work with other Coordinators and Directors to ensure customer flow is being addressed, service delivery is seamless and to maximize customer opportunities. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, investigate trends, and recommend and implement modifications to improve program effectiveness.
  • Ability to manage the budget within assigned department/program.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with OJT contracted employers.
  • Maintain business contract database.
  • Prepare reports to Program Director as required and requested.
  • Plan, coordinate, and administer responsibilities for the operation of designated program to ensure all program goals and objectives are met.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, investigate trends, and recommend and implement modifications to improve program effectiveness.
  • Review and update procedures and training procedures on an ongoing basis under Programs Director guidance and approval.
  • Create and facilitate presentations to a variety of stakeholders to promote WIOA AD/DW program benefits.
  • Coordinate work-based learning opportunities for customers with businesses contracting with CSTB.
  • Collaborate with Business Services Department to maximize customer work-based learning opportunities.
  • Coordinate with Director of MIS and Data Services to ensure that internal controls and adequate firewalls are established. 
  • Plan, coordinate, and administer responsibilities for the operation of designated program to ensure all program goals and objectives are met.
  • Develop and coordinate latest ideas and concepts for program materials and resources to supplement, expand or replace existing program components.
  • Work with other Coordinators and Directors to ensure customer flow is being addressed, service delivery is seamless and to maximize customer work-based learning opportunities.
  • Participate in special projects and programs, as needed.
  • Communicates succinctly with the Program Directors.
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints.
  • Apply independent judgment and discretion based on knowledge of company’s functional and structural organization.
  • Work independently on complex and confidential tasks.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with others inside and outside of the organization.
  • Travel between offices and to local business in Hillsborough County.
  • Work in a dynamic environment that requires the individual to be understanding of change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
  • Make decisions in accordance with Federal Guidelines and practices that govern the activities and behaviors of team members that directly impact other workers, citizens, and the community.
  • Duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.


Requirements

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Three (3) years of experience in related employment and training services.
  • Florida Workforce Professional Certification Tier I required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Florida Driver’s License.
  • Skill in written, research and verbal communications.
  • Knowledge of Hillsborough County community-based organizations and employer organizations.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and computer programs (i.e., Excel, Word, databases, Internet, etc.).
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State guidelines related to Welfare Transition, WIA and FSET programs.
  • Customer service skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Stooping. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist. This factor is important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full motion of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Crouching. Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Pushing. Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
  • Pulling. Using upper extremities to exert force to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
  • Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Ability to see, hear, and speak.
  • The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.
