Are you looking for a career helping people succeed in securing a job in a mission driven detailed environment? CareerSource Escarosa has the opportunity for you. We are seeking an energetic Difference-Maker to join our team as a Career Advisor for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

You have a passion for reaching out to potential training candidates to increase their skills using our educational providers. Developing and maintaining collaborations with community organizations and educational institutions to create positive relationships is and exciting prospect for you. Having the opportunity to present information about the WIOA program and how it works to our community gets your creativity flowing.

You enjoy providing orientations to potential candidates about the services and eligibility requirements of the WIOA program in group settings, individually and via the internet.

Helping candidates with career planning and guidance and assessing their employment and training needs is your expertise. You can identify and address barriers to employment and refer customers to training within our organization or to community resources that fit their needs.

Act as a guide helping WIOA customers with their enrollment and participation in post-secondary education to ensure success. Issue vouchers for tuition and books and provide support services for eligible candidates. You can engage students as they progress and keep track of grades and attendance to be able to aid when needed.

You consider yourself detail oriented with a penchant for organization and accuracy by entering all data (enrollment, core & intensive services, case management, support services, reimbursement for state and national boards, job placement data, follow-up information, etc.) into the Employ Florida system.

As students near the end of their training you are a job coach that will guide them with their search assisting with job readiness skills and recommending workshops or assessments to improve their rate of hire. You also enjoy assisting with or developing career workshops and providing the occasional tour of our Centers to help customers and partners understand our work and mission.

You can jump in and help our Rapid Response Team which helps people that have been laid off or their company has closed or moved find alternative employment.

Above all, you enjoy working as a team and want to learn not only the WIOA program but all our programs to be able to help our customers to the best of our ability throughout our Career Centers to help them get a job!

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in career counseling, educational/guidance counseling Human Services or a related field. A master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Two years’ counseling, case management, or related experience required.

Skills/Abilities: Ability to provide positive, outstanding customer service.

Licensure/Certification requirements:The incumbent must possess or obtain certification as a Workforce Professional Tier l and obtain Florida Ready to Work Soft skills and Digital skills credentials within 90 days of employment in this position.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

To provide the highest level of customer service, this position requires a thorough understanding of the job search process including proficiency in resume writing, uploading resumes to internet websites, cover letters, job interviewing skills, etc.

Problem-solving skills, organizational skills, time management skills, and excellent oral and written communications skills are essential.

Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications is required including Microsoft Office Suite, email, and internet applications.

Knowledge of the Employ Florida system, Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act programs, and Rapid Response. Ability to take and pass Tier One Workforce Professional Certification within the first 90 days of employment.

Travel within Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties is required, as well as occasional overnight travel to areas outside the two-county region. A valid Florida driver's license and access to a reliable, insured motor vehicle is required.

Drug screening and background check will be conducted before offer of employment.

Salary: $36,200.00 - $49,200.00 per year. Depending on experience.
