Position Summary


Weaver Nut Company is seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager – Chocolate Manufacturing to lead daily operations at our Sinking Spring, PA production facility.


This role is ideal for an energetic food manufacturing professional who wants to make a meaningful impact on both operations and culture. We are looking for a leader who will add value to our team environment, invest in employee training and mentorship, and bring an entrepreneurial mindset to improving production flow, accountability, communication, and daily follow-through.


The right candidate will enjoy being highly visible on the production floor while also managing scheduling, materials, shipments, employee accountability, temporary labor, contractor communication, food safety participation, production documentation, operational follow-up, and coordination with company leadership and FSQA.


The position is approximately 75% production floor-based and 25% office-based, with responsibility for production scheduling, material ordering, shipment coordination, employee follow-up, documentation, contractor communication, and administrative responsibilities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Manage daily chocolate manufacturing operations to meet production, quality, sanitation, food safety, and safety expectations.
  • Lead, supervise, train, coach, mentor, and support production employees and temporary employees.
  • Help build a positive, accountable, team-focused production culture.
  • Bring an entrepreneurial mindset to daily operations by identifying opportunities to improve workflow, communication, organization, employee development, and production efficiency.
  • Monitor production flow, labor utilization, workflow, quality, sanitation, and output throughout the day.
  • Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules based on customer demand, material availability, staffing, and company priorities.
  • Order raw materials, packaging, and production supplies needed to support daily and upcoming production.
  • Coordinate shipments to and from the company distribution center.
  • Communicate with leadership regarding production status, staffing concerns, material needs, delays, quality concerns, compliance matters, and operational issues.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for building-related needs, repairs, service, and follow-up.
  • Conduct employee reviews and provide performance feedback.
  • Support employee accountability, coaching, documentation, and disciplinary action in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and ongoing development of production employees.
  • Ensure employees follow company policies, safety rules, sanitation procedures, GMP expectations, and food manufacturing standards.
  • Complete and follow up on daily production documentation, production logs, production line checks, equipment readiness checks, material-use controls, cleaning follow-up, repair requests, and operational issue follow-up.
  • Coordinate with FSQA on label use, allergen-cleaning schedules, BOM changes, sanitation expectations, production documentation, GMP, SQF, food safety, quality, and audit-related requirements.
  • Support production-related SWIs and process instructions, submitting food safety, GMP, SQF, or quality-controlled content for FSQA review and approval.
  • Use company technology, systems, spreadsheets, email, and documentation tools to support scheduling, reporting, communication, and follow-up.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, compliant, and professional food production environment.


Required Qualifications


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, food production, confectionery, bakery, snack manufacturing, or a related production environment.
  • Prior experience supervising, leading, or managing production employees.
  • Experience managing both direct employees and temporary employees preferred.
  • Strong hands-on production floor leadership skills.
  • Strong computer and technology skills.
  • Ability to train, coach, mentor, and hold employees accountable while supporting a positive team culture.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take initiative, solve problems, improve processes, and drive follow-through.
  • Ability to manage production schedules, employee priorities, material needs, shipment coordination, contractor follow-up, production documentation, and daily production planning.
  • Strong communication skills with employees, leadership, HR, contractors, vendors, temporary staffing contacts, and FSQA.
  • Ability to address employee performance concerns professionally and consistently.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a small-facility environment.
  • Familiarity with GMP, SQF, food safety, sanitation, quality, or audit expectations preferred.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Panning, enrobing, and chocolate production experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting SQF audits, GMP compliance, sanitation programs, food safety documentation, or quality systems.
  • Experience with production scheduling, material planning, shipment coordination, production records, and inventory-related follow-up.
  • Experience coordinating vendors, building contractors, service providers, or facility-related work.

Physical Requirements


Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. This position requires frequent time on the production floor, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and moving throughout a food manufacturing environment.
