POSITION SUMMARY
As the Director of National Accounts at VV Supremo, you will be responsible for driving the strategic growth of our food products across Walmart & Sam’s Club stores and their eCommerce platform. This role involves managing and optimizing sales performance, building key relationships with Walmart’s merchandising, and buying teams, and ensuring the effective execution of marketing and promotional strategies. A deep understanding of the retail food industry and Walmart’s business processes is essential, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sales Strategy & Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to enhance the visibility and sales of our products at Walmart and Sam’s Club, both in-store and online. This position serves as the primary liaison between VV Supremo and Walmart/Sam’s, managing relationships with Walmart's team and coordinating with external brokers.
- Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders at Walmart and Sam’s, including buyers, category managers, and internal teams, to maximize business opportunities and ensure optimal product placement and promotional support.
- Leadership:
- Proven track record of leading and managing a Broker sales force
- P&L Management:
- Oversee the P&L for Walmart accounts, ensuring profitability through effective margin management, pricing strategies, and cost control. Continuously monitor financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and growth.
- Market Analysis & Insights:
- Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and Walmart-specific sales data to uncover new opportunities, emerging trends, and potential risks. Provide actionable insights to the leadership team to optimize business performance.
- Promotions & Marketing Collaboration:
- Partner with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns, in-store displays, and digital content that resonate with Walmart customers and drive sales.
- Forecasting & Inventory Management:
- Work closely with supply chain and inventory teams to ensure timely product availability at Walmart. Provide accurate sales forecasts and demand projections to prevent stockouts.
- Reporting & Performance Tracking:
- Track and report on sales performance, key metrics, and the ROI of sales initiatives to the executive team. Present monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on Walmart business performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years in food sales, with a strong focus on Walmart and Sam’s Club.
- Large Company & Small company selling success
- Strategic Thinking:
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to drive sales growth and navigate challenges. Proven experience in developing and executing successful sales strategies.
- Relationship Building:
- Exceptional skills in relationship-building and negotiation, with the ability to influence key stakeholders and manage major customer accounts.
- Analytical Skills:
- Proficiency in sales analytics, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making. Advanced knowledge of Excel and other business intelligence tools.
- Communication:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present effectively to executives and collaborate cross-functionally.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree - MBA preferred.
- Travel:
- Must be able to travel 25%
Preferred Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of Walmart’s retail systems, processes, and operations.
- Strong understanding of food industry trends,
- Familiarity with digital and eCommerce platforms, particularly Walmart’s online marketplace.
WORK ENVIROMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work environment for this role is typically an office setting, with most tasks performed at a desk using a computer. Daily responsibilities involve extended periods of sitting, frequent use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse for data entry, analysis, and report generation. Salary : $175,000 - $195,000
