The incumbent is responsible for designing compelling graphics to meet specific commercial and promotional needs such as packaging, displays, sell sheets, websites or logos.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops graphics and layouts for private label and branded packaging designs, product illustrations, company logos, sell sheets, store displays and social media posts.
- Proofs and reviews final layouts with cross functional team and suggest improvements as needed.
- Maintains archive of photos and previous design projects.
- Photographs products for web site, sell sheets and presentations for sales and internal database.
- Offers creative input in brainstorming sessions for new product names/ideas/concepts.
- Creates and sends marketing email blasts to subscribers.
- Communicates with clients both in writing and verbally to create designs to their specifications.
- Work with VP on SEO using tools such as Google Analytics and Uber Suggests.
- Maintains web site with any changes required.
- Works with VP on newsletters that align with Key Word Search phrases and raises scores for top ten lists.
QUALIFYING SKILLS REQUIREMENT:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field.
- 3-5 years of prior experience, knowledge, and skills in Graphic Design Food and/or Consumer Packaged Goods products is a plus.
- Understand B to B strategies versus B to C strategies for customer attraction and engagement and sales opportunities.
- Understanding of digital marketing and SEO techniques in a B2B context.
- Must have the ability to see details at close range and the ability to come up with original, unusual or clever ideas about specific topics and develop creative ways to solve them. A demonstrable skill in fluency of ideas is required.
- Must have knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Must also have knowledge of digital media production and communication.
- Must have excellent communication skills both oral and written to convey information or ideas effectively and the ability to demonstrate active listening skills.
- Must demonstrate critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning skills to identify the challenges and opportunities of alternative options. Analyzing information and evaluating options and implementing the best solution.
- Must have excellent interpersonal relationships to be able to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships across the business. Dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
- Must have excellent time management skills.
- Must have excellent knowledge and skills in computers (Windows), Outlook, Internet browsing, Social Media Platforms, and practical application of mathematics to solve problems.
- Must have excellent knowledge in the use of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Lightroom.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
