he goal of the Safety and Security department at Brooks Rehabilitation is to ensure proactive and preventative measures to create the safest environment for our patients, employees, and stakeholders. The Safety and Security Coordinator will provide administrative and programmatic support to the Director of Safety and Security through meeting planning and facilitation, required program documentation drafts and updates, and supporting the overall daily operations of designated projects/initiatives for the Safety and Security department.
Responsibilities:
- Assists the Director with planning, developing and implementing the system Safety and Security program and all required documentation
- Responsible for the maintenance of required Comprehensive Emergency Management Plans across the system
- Review practices and protocols annually for updates/revisions
- Support the Director in the planning and facilitation of committee meetings as requested; may sit on various committees related to workplace safety , quality, infection control, etc
- Assist the Director in monitoring and reporting on safety and security protocols, metrics, and related matters
- May serve as an operational resource for employees on work-related safety and security protocols and procedures
- Ensure required safety audits, inspections, after action reports, and other related reports are completed in a timely and accurate manner
- Assist in coordinating fire drills, evacuations, safety walkthroughs, First Aid/CPR/AED staff training as directed
- Provide support in the monitoring of safety and security systems
- Provide support for the safety and security office to include processing invoices, data entry, ordering supplies, and other required tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- High School degree required; Related Certification, Associate or Bachelor’s degree or other advanced training preferred
- At least 2 years of related experience required; previous safety and security experience a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication necessary
- Strong time management and prioritization skills required
- Ability to create detailed reports and documentation
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

Location: Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, 3599 University Blvd South, Jacksonville, FL 32216. *Reimbursed travel may be required for site safety, security and emergency preparedness visits, real emergencies, continuity of operation issues and to represent Brooks in professional organizations across the system of care.
Hours: 40 hours per week, Full-time
Compensation: Experience, education and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
