Location Overview: This position is located at our University Crossing location, Joint Commission certified, three-story, 82,000 square-foot facility with 111 beds, serving patients with both short and long-term rehabilitation needs. Position Summary: Performs and provides all office support services for the Rehab Department such as patient and staff scheduling, computer functions, correspondence, interdepartmental and client communication, compiling statistics and conducting special projects as assigned.

MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationship with other members of the health care administrative team.
- Plan and prepare staffing schedules. Work with the staff to accommodate individual’s schedules according to current policies. Collaborate with the rehab manager to provide correct mixture and number of staff for each day.
- Enter all schedules into appropriate computer software with accuracy and produce required reports. In cooperation with manager or designee, make daily changes to schedules and acquire additional staff as needed to replace staff who call in absent from work. Notify manager in timely manner if unable to obtain required staff to meet unit needs.
- Retrieves overnight and daily fax requisitions, identifies new patient referrals and new orders, sorts schedule by therapist and distributes to the therapists. Schedules all patients daily, adding new patients as received, and altering schedule when requested.
- Communicates with the Nursing units and other departments to solicit needed patient information and problem-solve when necessary.
- Performs all Rehab Department billing functions; daily charge reconciliations, and notifies therapist to perform charge corrections as necessary.
- Maintains and reports all departmental statistics.
- Maintains and prepares timesheets through Unitime for all department employees.
- Answers telephone in a professional manner, files, and schedules meetings as required. Performs general office functions: typing, filing, and ordering supplies
- Distributes and files correspondence and records.
- Retrieves, assembles, and submits various data and information for the Regional and Manager.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school graduate.
- One to two years experience in a business office or medical environment.
- Some medical terminology helpful, but not required.
- SNF experience preferred. Scheduling experience preferred.
Compensation: Experience and education may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
