What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator I position at Careers?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. (Other duties may be assigned.)
- Safely operate powered industrial trucks and forklifts.
- Fulfill production parts orders.
- Move material to proper bins, shelves, or holding areas.
- Compare items and counts to packing slips, orders, or inventory logs.
- Accurately count items.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Maintain inventory locations.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION, SKILLS and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Basic computer knowledge
- Knowledge of trailer production parts is a plus.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to work independently; self directed and motivated.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate a sit-down forklift required.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and climb repeatedly throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
