Forklift Operator (2nd shift)

Night Shift Hours: Typically from 2:00 PM - 12:00 Midnight

The Royal Group, an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a night shift (temp to hire) Forklift Operator to support our Lakeland, FL (Knights Station, Retail) facility. You will be eligible to be hired for full-time employment between 60-90 days after your start date. As a Forklift Operator, you will handle projects and execute job assignments provided by the Warehouse Manager. You will help and execute direction from the Warehouse Manager on projects needing attention.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

• Following the direction given by the floor lead or Supervisor, to maintain proper procedures.
• Moving goods packed on pallets around the storage facility in a safe manner.
• Stacking goods in the correct manner to avoid any damage to the product. And report any product damage to the floor lead or Supervisor.
• Preforming daily equipment checklist to ensure the forklift is running properly.
• Ensure that all material is being scanned to its proper location.
• Following all safety rules and procedures of the company.

THE ROYAL GROUP REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and employees of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• An energetic, motivated, and dependable worker who is dedicated to the job and team.
• The ability to function as a mature, professional individual, who interacts positively with teammates.
• The willingness to function effectively in a team environment and tackle any task required for the success of the team.
• Need to be knowledgeable in a warehouse managing system.
• Need to have at least one year of forklift experience and must be certified.
• Must know how to read and write English.
• Must be flexible in working early or staying late as hours may fluctuate.
• Corrugated background is a plus, but not required.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one to three months of related forklift experience and/or training.
• Valid Certified Forklift Operator License or certification.
