Job Description:
Interns are matched with a mentor to assist in their training and development. The mentor will guide the intern as they develop an intimate understanding of the mill's equipment, processes, and maintenance flow in a manufacturing environment. Internship will include job shadowing, general safety training, and exposure to all aspects of electrical theory and application in a real-world setting. Hands-on experience / projects include:

Completing electrical preventive maintenance work orders.

Test, install, and troubleshoot AC/DC circuits.

Exposure to and working with motor starters and VFDs (variable frequency drives).

Learning basic functions of a PLC (programmable logic controller).

Introduction into process controls and integrating.

Learning basic knowledge of a manufacturing production facility.
Requirements:

Must be enrolled in the electrical construction program at Northwest Technical College in Bemidji, MN and have completed one year of the program.

Must have an understanding of basic electrical theory.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office products and basic computer usage.

Ability to work and interact with a variety of people in a professional and positive manner.

Able to climb and descend stairs, ladders, catwalks at elevated levels, and work at heights.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Must be capable of working in an industrial setting subject to hot, dusty, cold, wet, and dirty environments on occasion.
