Job Description

STC is a science and engineering research and services support company with proven expertise and experience spanning research, development, test, and evaluation in areas including aerospace engineering, earth and atmospheric sciences, chemical and biological defense, military systems and technology, and software development.

Responsibilities:

The Project Scientist will work as a technical advisor and scientific expert in the Chem Test Division. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of set-up, operation, sampling, calibration, quality control, data collection, and trouble-shooting for test monitoring in a chemical agent or simulant environment.

• Perform laboratory and field-testing activities
• Provide laboratory operations planning and management expertise
• Be trained as a test process air monitoring MINICAMS Operator
• Demonstrate testing operations proficiency and obtain certification
• Mentor and lead junior staff

Compensation & Benefits:

• Pay: $115k - $135k
• Schedule: M-T, 10-hrs/day, longer days during field work
• 401K with up to 4% employer matching contribution

Job Requirements

Education:

• Doctorate degree in Chemistry, or related science/engineering field

Job Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• 4 years of postdoctoral laboratory experience
• Must have extensive knowledge in the operation of a chemical laboratories.
• Must be proficient in gas/liquid chromatographs and mass spectroscopy, spectroscopy, and other analytical instrumentation
• Must be able to review technical requirements, prepare technical approaches, and solve complex technical problems
• Requires experience using Solid Sorbent Tube (SST) samplers and bubblers
• Excellent communication skills in English and the ability multitask, prioritize, and complete work within schedule
• Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Bonus points if you have:

• Experience with test and process monitoring
• Experience working with highly toxic chemicals
• Experience in either academia or military or equivalent year of experience with direct govt or contracting supporting govt contracts)
