Director, People & Labor Relations
📍 United States (Utah or California) | Healthcare Services | Multi-Site Operations
A rapidly growing healthcare organization is seeking a strategic and hands-on Director, People & Labor Relations to build and lead the labor relations function across a complex, unionized environment.
This role will serve as the organization’s labor relations subject matter expert, partnering closely with HR, Legal, Compliance, and Operations leadership to develop and execute a long-term labor strategy that supports operational excellence and workforce stability.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and scale the enterprise labor relations function
- Lead labor strategy, union engagement, bargaining prep, and grievance management
- Develop governance structures, playbooks, dashboards, and reporting processes
- Partner with executive leadership on labor risk management and organizational readiness
- Coach leaders and HR teams on union interactions, investigations, and labor best practices
- Strengthen labor-management partnerships across multiple sites and bargaining units
Qualifications
- 10 years of labor relations experience in unionized environments
- Healthcare or skilled nursing industry experience strongly preferred
- Proven success leading complex negotiations, grievances, and arbitration
- Experience building or transforming labor relations infrastructure at scale
- Strong executive presence, strategic thinking, and communication skills
- Advanced degree or J.D. preferred

Salary : $200,000 - $275,000
