Job Summary:
- Work as a Project Staff Engineer in the Customer Energy Solutions organization, utilizing a broad knowledge of business and energy engineering principles and practices acquired through progressive field and academic experience.
- Provide engineering support for energy efficiency projects, with a focus on energy savings estimates.
- Perform technical evaluation of investment grade audits, engineering design documents, energy models, and post-construction performance.
- Review technical designs and estimate savings for multimillion-dollar projects using technical resource manuals and sound engineering principles.
- Oversee QA/QC of small and mid-sized projects and ensure cost-effective project execution.
Job Responsibilities:
- Interface with Client associates, vendors, customers, and consultants to ensure compliance with program rules and requirements.
- Ensure projects are cost effective and reporting data is accurate and timely.
- Identify, assess, and standardize complex energy savings analyses across Commercial & Industrial and Multifamily programs.
- Apply engineering and business principles including financial and cost management.
- Develop technical documentation and engineering calculators to improve review processes and deliverable quality.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in energy efficiency projects or project management (construction, HVAC, or mechanical projects in Industrial & Commercial sectors).
- Knowledge of Commercial & Industrial and Multifamily energy savings measures and techniques.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ASHRAE and Technical Reference Manuals.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Strong planning, organizational, and adaptability skills with a results-oriented mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills on projects or initiatives.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).
- Valid driver’s license with ability to travel within client territory.
- Ability to work independently and foster an inclusive work environment
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) from AEE.
- LEED Certification, Professional Engineer (P.E.) License, or Lean Six Sigma Certification.
- Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, VBA macros).
- Experience with building simulation and compliance software (e.g., eQUEST, TRACE 3D).
- Familiarity with advanced building control energy-saving methodologies.
