Job Description:
The Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the primary point of contact for patients, delivering high-quality care and ensuring a positive patient experience. This role is responsible for performing skilled phlebotomy procedures, specimen collection, and processing while adhering to established clinical protocols, safety standards, and confidentiality guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipuncture, capillary, and specimen collection (including pediatric and geriatric patients) with accuracy and patient-focused care
- Prepare, label, and process specimens in compliance with laboratory procedures and quality standards
- Verify patient identification, demographics, and obtain required signatures to ensure specimen accuracy and labeling integrity
- Maintain proper documentation, records, and data entry in laboratory and patient systems
- Ensure a safe, clean, and professional work environment at all times
- Communicate procedures clearly to patients to build trust and reduce anxiety
- Follow all company policies, including safety, compliance, and confidentiality standards (HIPAA)
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills while managing high patient volume and multiple priorities
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining productivity and accuracy
- Support both clinical and forensic specimen collection as required
- Travel to multiple sites (Patient Service Centers, clinics, or physician offices) based on business needs

- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
- Willingness to travel between multiple locations with short notice (for float roles)
- Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)
- Ability to make decisions using established procedures and sound judgment
Education & Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Medical Assistant or Paramedic training (preferred)
- Phlebotomy Certification (preferred; required in CA, NV, WA)
