Phlebotomist I

Job Title: Patient Services Representative I (PSR I)
Location: Ellenton, FL
Duration: 3 months
Shift: 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday–Friday with rotational Saturdays

Job Summary:
The Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) is responsible for collecting and processing blood specimens while providing excellent patient care. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills, professionalism, and attention to accuracy and confidentiality. The PSR I interacts directly with patients and helps create a safe, positive, and trusting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and specimen collection (clinical and forensic)

• Prepare specimens for laboratory testing

• Accurately maintain records and documentation

• Follow safety, quality, and confidentiality standards

• Provide professional and courteous patient service

• Work independently under minimal supervision

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)

• Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience (1 year preferred)

• Pediatric and geriatric phlebotomy experience

• Strong customer service and data entry skills

• Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred

• Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, WA)

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Additional Requirements:

• Must live within 20–25 minutes of the worksite (include home city/commute time on resume)

• Reliable personal transportation required

• Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, overtime, and on-call as needed

• Punctuality and full shift attendance required
