Hiring for a M-F and rotating Saturday 8 hour shift starting between 9:00a - 11:00a CT (Saturday shift would be 9:00a - 5:30p CT). Training will be 8:00a-4:30p CT.

Pharmacy Advisor is a specially developed, clinical program for Client Caremark. It provides a significant opportunity for all involved to be a part of an exciting, clinical program for Client Caremark. The Pharmacy Advisor operations team will have a direct impact on the health and outcomes for patients with chronic disease states. Pharmacists and Technicians will receive messaging at critical points in care, use enhanced computer systems and leverage behavior modification/interviewing techniques that can be instrumental in driving optimal health outcomes and to provide personalized support to our targeted members. The team will work together to demonstrate the true value that Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians can have to their patients.

Position Summary:

The role of the Clinical Pharmacist in the Pharmacy Advisor team, a specially developed, clinical program for Client Caremark, is to provide support and consultation to targeted members regarding the disease state(s) supported by the program. Through the use of sophisticated modeling and systems, we are able to identify members who meet the desired counseling opportunity criteria. Outbound calls are made (with return inbound calls likely) directly to patients. The focus of the discussion is to provide education on new therapies, partner with the patient to solve for non-adherence issues, as well as work with the patient and the prescriber to assess the need for supplemental medications based on the unique needs of the patient and their disease state. In addition to working directly with the patient, the Pharmacy Advisor Clinical Pharmacist works very closely with the patient's prescriber, other Pharmacy Advisor staff, as well as other Client Caremark departments, to address patient issues. Pharmacists in the Pharmacy Advisor program will complete an internal, disease-specific training program including learning the innovative skill of behavioral modification and interviewing. The Pharmacists will utilize these skill sets as key drivers to positively impact patient health outcomes. The Pharmacy Advisor Clinical Pharmacist will have the ability to work in a highly charged, fast paced call center as well as participate in the further development and refinement of work systems, tools, processes and procedures.

Duties:

Work in a fast paced production environment; able to work with people in a team environment; meet individual performance goals. Colleague will be required to work mandatory overtime when needed.

Provides telephonic counseling, education, and support to patients in regards to medication therapy & regimens - 90%
Interface via telephone with patient providers and pharmacies to resolve medication related issues - 5%
Other responsibilities as directed by supervisor and/or manager - 5%

Experience:

Required- 1 years in Retail, LTC, Hospital or PBM pharmacy experience, or other pharmacist-to-patient consultation experience.
Preferred experience working with patients with chronic disease states, especially diabetes.

Preferred- Pharmacy knowledge, drug utilization review, excellent consultation skills with patients, strong customer service skills.
*PC literate, solid writing skills, knowledge of pharmacy laws, and accurate clinical information.
*Excellent communication skills. Ability to learn new operating systems and new communication strategies.
Must be flexible, organized and have a passion for working directly with patients

Education:

Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or Pharm D. Must be located in either Client, HI, TX, IL, FL, or PA and have an active pharmacist license in that state.
