Job Title: Patient Accounts Representative

Job Summary:
- The Patient Accounts Representative serves as the first point of contact within the Accounting Office, providing patient-facing support related to billing and account inquiries for both dental and medical services.
- This role requires professionalism, strong communication, and attention to detail to ensure a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist patients and visitors courteously and professionally.
- Answer incoming calls and route inquiries to the appropriate department or team member.
- Respond to patient billing questions, explain statements, and provide basic account information.
- Accept and process patient payments, issuing receipts and necessary documentation.
- Manage incoming/outgoing mail, including scanning, sorting, and fax distribution.
- Log and track patient inquiries, correspondence, and documentation per office procedures.
- Collaborate with billing, clinical, and administrative teams to resolve patient account issues.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and institutional policies.
- Keep the reception desk and waiting area clean, organized, and professional.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1–2 years of experience in healthcare, dental, or customer service environments.
- Experience with patient billing systems, insurance processes, and EHR/EMR systems preferred.
- Background in both dental and medical billing strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a busy setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with digital records/databases.
