Location: Detroit, MI 48202
Duration: 3 Months (Possible Extension)
Shift Details:
- Midnights with exception of training on days.
- Train on days for Hematology then move to Midnights Hematology.
- Monday–Friday.
- Start time: 6:30 AM or 7:00 AM.
- Duration: 6–8 weeks.
- After training, shift will transition to midnight shift.
- Candidates will work on the automation line.
- Hours per Week: 40.
- Hours per Day: 8.
- Days per Week: 5.
Job Summary:

Requirements:
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience (hematology preferred).
- Previous hematology experience required.
- Medical Technologist (MT) certification.
- Experience with fluid cell counts and differentials.
- Completion of an accredited Bachelor’s degree in:
- Medical Technology.
- Medical Laboratory Sciences.
- Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology may be considered if coursework aligns with the Medical Technologist role.
Required Education:
- Completion of accredited Bachelor’s Degree program in medical technology, medical laboratory sciences, or clinical laboratory sciences.
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biology may be considered if completed coursework aligns with the duties of the specific Medical Technologist position.
- Coursework completed outside of the US must be verified by a NACES approved credential evaluation service.
Preferred Certification & Licensure:
- Certification at the technologist level from a nationally recognized agency, such as ASCP, NCA, ASM, AABB, Client, or HEW is preferred.
Skills:
Required Skills & Experience:
- Requires six months experience in a medical laboratory setting.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency and theoretical knowledge sufficient to perform laboratory functions are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hematology Specialist Certification.
Schedule Notes:
- 13-week assignment.
- Likely to extend, possibility of conversion to FTE.
- Training will be Mon - Friday starting at 6.30 am or 7 am for 6-8 weeks of the assignment and then we'll switch to midnight.
- Candidates working on automation line.
Hours Summary:
- Hours Per Week: 40.00.
- Hours Per Day: 8.00.
- Days Per Week: 5.00.
