Job Description: Laboratory Assistant (Medical Lab)
Location: Marlborough, MA
Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Duration: 3 months
Pay range: $23/hr. on W2
Summary:
Support daily laboratory operations by performing routine tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Assist lab professionals in specimen handling, preparation, and workflow management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and process specimens
- Centrifuge, label, store, and retrieve samples
- Prepare reagents, media, and test samples
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and record data (e.g., temperature logs)
- Assist with sample prep (aliquoting, slide preparation, clot checks)
- Maintain cleanliness and decontaminate work areas
- Dispose of biohazard materials and follow PPE/safety protocols
- Manage pending lists and locate missing samples
- Maintain records and perform QA/QC tasks
- Use laboratory computer systems and basic PC operations
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (medical/lab training preferred)
- Basic math and science knowledge
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Ability to follow procedures accurately and retain information
- Good communication and teamwork skills
