Histology Tech – Houston, TX
Contract: 3 months (Temp to Perm)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Job Overview:
Seeking an experienced Histology Technician skilled in embedding, microtomy, and routine/special staining techniques. HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification is required.
Key Responsibilities:

Validate specimen identification, sample type, and prioritization per protocol.

Process tissues using proper solutions and programs; operate tissue processor.

Embed and section tissues (minimum 30 blocks/hour) with high accuracy and quality.

Perform routine and special stains (AFB, MSN, Gram, Oro) according to procedures.

Coverslip, label, and distribute slides in a timely manner.

Assist with biopsies, FNAs, and specimen retrieval across various departments.

Perform LIS inquiry functions and troubleshoot issues.
Requirements:

HT(ASCP) or HTL(ASCP) certification (mandatory).

Solid knowledge of histology processes, special stains, and lab operations.

Ability to communicate effectively, multitask, and work independently.
