Title: Forensic Processing Assistant
Location: Lenexa, KS
Duration: 3 months (temp to hire)
Shift: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM (40 hours/week)
Overview:
The Forensic Processing Assistant is responsible for the daily receipt, handling, and processing of forensic toxicology specimens. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to forensic protocols, and the ability to work in a high-volume laboratory environment while maintaining accuracy and safety.
Key Responsibilities:

Open and sort incoming specimen packages (urine, hair, oral fluid, etc.)

Perform data entry using Maxilog and QTN Lab Information System

Process urine specimens for both regulated and non-regulated testing

Scan and image custody and control forms (CCFs) accurately

Discard negative specimens according to protocol

Maintain forensic chain-of-custody standards

Flexilog routine urine specimens at a rate of 70 CCFs/hour

Follow all lab safety and procedural policies

Support the team with other duties as assigned
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Experience:
-
Prior laboratory experience (preferred)

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Comfortable with repetitive tasks and long sitting periods

Ability to lift up to 20 lbs

Familiarity with computer systems and data entry
