Job Title: Construction Inspector
Duration: Scranton, PA
Duration: 12 to 36 months (Possible of extension)
Note: Must live within 1 hour of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and be able to travel to job sites daily.
Job Description:
- The position primarily involves reporting daily production on vendor activities for Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) projects, including SFU (single family), MDU (multi-dwelling), and FTTB (business) projects from construction through test and turn-up.
Major Roles and Responsibilities:
- Collect and report on daily vendor activities.
- Review drawings and specifications to become familiar with the project.
- Monitor fiber optic plant construction activities to ensure products are installed within. customer guidelines and manufacturer standard recommended procedures (SRP).
- Visit project sites to evaluate progress and respond to Project Manager or customer concerns; direct contractor activities if needed.
- Report daily production utilizing Sitetracker mobile system.
- Provide support for material inventory consumption as required.
- Enforce and adhere to safety rules and practices from all governing authorities.
- Understand and implement local construction methods and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with customer and industry specifications/standards during OSP construction.
- Perform quality inspections for ongoing and completed work using established checklists and Sitetracker software.

- Valid US Driver's License with clean driving record.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
Required Skills:
- Ability to work independently and self-directed.
- Ability to read and understand FTTX (fiber to the home) print.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Strong team player with the ability to adapt to diverse team members.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work outside normal scheduled business hours periodically.
- Fluent in English.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work in various physical positions including sitting, standing, walking (up to 5 miles per day), and driving a passenger car.
- Exposure to all weather conditions, including hot, humid, rainy, and cold snowy weather, with some indoor work in controlled environments.
- Exposure to noise levels on project sites.
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, hard hat, and safety vest (steel-toe boots not provided).
