Role Overview:
- We are seeking a versatile technician who combines mechanical design expertise with advanced digital skills.
- This role requires proficiency in CAD design, drawing management, Shop Router creation and modification, Change Management (MOC) tracking, and design automation tools.
- The ideal candidate will be highly computer-savvy, capable of working across multiple software platforms, collaborating with various departments, and leveraging process automation and AI technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• CAD Design, Revisions & Drawing Packages
- Create and modify detailed 2D/3D models and technical drawings using CAD software.
- Manage drawing revisions and prepare complete drawing packages for release.
- Update all supporting documentation
- Maintain and organize drawing databases and ensure compliance with standards.
- Manage drawings and documents within PDMWorks.
- Create, develop and update Shop Routers in ERP systems. (Syteline)
- Create, track, and close Change Management (MOC) actions. (ETQ Reliance)
- Utilize automation tools to accelerate design workflows.
- Support implementation of AI-driven solutions for CAD and router processes.
- Modify and enhance department Automation software when necessary. (DriveWorks)
- Troubleshoot issues across CAD, ERP, and automation platforms.
- Create and troubleshoot macros for design tools and process automation.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, quality, and IT teams to ensure accurate documentation and smooth process execution.
- Assist in mapping and improving department processes for efficiency.
- Manage department documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Aids, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
- Audit documents and processes
Required/ Preferred Software Skills:
- Required: SolidWorks, Microsoft Office Suite
- Preferred: PDMWorks, DriveWorks, Microsoft Power Apps, ETQ Reliance, Infor Syteline (or similar ERP system), JMP (statistical analysis software)
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 3 years of experience in CAD design and manufacturing documentation.
- Excellent computer literacy and ability to learn new software quickly.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with AI-assisted design tools and process automation.
- Knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
