Job Description:
Immediate need for a Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in mechanical building design and knowledge of mechanical engineering and mechanical equipment specification fundamentals. This position is located in the Philadelphia office and will support projects in PA and NJ. Role is based in-office 5 days/week .
Responsibilities:
- Design and specify Mechanical equipment and systems for building maintenance and construction. This includes HVAC systems, associated ductwork, sprinklers, plumbing, boilers, furnaces.
- Perform necessary system design and load calculations throughout.
- Prepare construction documents including ductwork layout, plumbing risers, associated drawings, specifications, and reports using AutoCAD.
- Projects are for retail, commercial, multifamily, healthcare, and institutional markets.
- Participate in the selection and specification of all appropriate equipment.
- Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.
- Attend meetings and communicate with clients.
Job Requirements:
- 4-7 years of professional experience designing HVAC, VAV, Plumbing, fire protection, fire suppression, and other mechanical systems for commercial, multifamily, healthcare, and institutional projects.
- AutoCAD & Revit usage experience desired.
- EIT is a plus but not required.
- Proven experience with A/E or MEP firms.
- Strong fundamental understanding of Building Codes.
- Ability to multi-task with multiple projects to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
