Schedule: Weekdays | 3 shifts per week
Shift Hours: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (10.5 hours)
Pay Rate: $49–$52/hr
Guaranteed Hours: 12 hours/week

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the central coordinator of perioperative care throughout orthopedic surgical procedures.
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all instruments, supplies, and equipment are sterile, functioning, and ready for use.
- Circulate orthopedic cases, promptly providing surgeons with required tools while maintaining strict aseptic technique.
- Continuously monitor patient vitals and communicate any changes to the surgical team.
- Document perioperative activities accurately in electronic health record systems (Epic, Cerner).
- Maintain compliance with infection control standards, sterile field protocols, and OSHA guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and OR staff to ensure seamless workflow.
- Handle and label specimens according to regulatory and laboratory standards.
- Assist with patient positioning, prepping, draping, and wound care throughout procedures.
- Support emergency responses within the OR when needed.
- Participate in quality and safety initiatives aimed at improving perioperative performance and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Active Colorado RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Recent experience as an OR Circulating Nurse, with strong emphasis on Orthopedic Surgery
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile processes, and OR best practices
- Proficiency with electronic health record platforms (Epic, Cerner)
- Experience with perioperative tasks including positioning, IV management, catheter care, and specimen handling
- Ability to perform efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced surgical setting
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Flexibility to work weekday shifts within a short-term contract setting
