Job Summary

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Director of Nursing (DON) to join our leadership team at a busy skilled nursing facility near the Thornton/North Denver area. This role is ideal for a Registered Nurse (RN) with strong leadership experience, ready to step into a high-impact role.

Overview

In this role, you will partner with an experienced and approachable Administrator and focus on strengthening systems, building a cohesive team, and driving a positive culture shift.

The ideal Director of Nursing will be passionate about long-term care, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and enjoy engaging with both staff and residents while leading a large, dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day clinical operations of a large skilled nursing facility
  • Build, mentor, and retain a strong and accountable nursing team
  • Lead survey readiness and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Drive quality improvement initiatives and positive clinical outcomes
  • Support staffing stability and reduce agency reliance
  • Collaborate with ADONs and unit managers to ensure operational success
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and resident-centered care
  • Maintain strong census and support overall facility performance


Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
  • Previous leadership experience required in a skilled nursing facility— DON, ADON, or similar role preferred
  • Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, survey processes, and compliance
  • Proven ability to lead large teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build culture, motivate staff, and drive accountability
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and clinical assessment skills
  • Interest in long-term growth within an expanding organization
