Career Start is currently seeking a Retort Operator on 12hr nights in Fairport, NY. To be considered for this position, candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced food production environment. The Retort Operator will be responsible for safely operating and monitoring retort systems used in the thermal processing of food products while ensuring all quality and food safety standards are met.
Shift: 6pm-6am
Responsibilities of the Retort Operator:
- Operate, monitor, and adjust retort equipment to ensure proper thermal processing of food products
- Record and maintain accurate production, quality, and food safety documentation
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report any mechanical or operational issues
- Follow all GMP, HACCP, SQF, and food safety procedures
- Work closely with production and quality teams to ensure product specifications are met
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with sanitation standards
Requirements of the Retort Operator:
- Previous manufacturing, food production, or retort experience preferred
- Ability to read, understand, and complete production documentation accurately
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and quality standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds as needed
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
