The Energy Advisor is an individual contributor who serves as a single point of contact for assessing customers’ energy needs and requirements, analyzing and developing solutions, and providing value-added energy solutions to meet these needs. This position is responsible for providing technical energy advice and effective customer account and project management. 

POSITION DIMENSIONS

Responsibility is limited to the size, scope, or complexity of the assigned Division/District. 

QUALIFICATIONS

There are clear precedents and practices which the incumbent uses to determine how this job is performed. This position requires four to six years of relevant work experience plus a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential job responsibilities. 

Possesses in depth energy knowledge, particularly in the areas of natural gas, alternative energy, utilities, building technology, etc.; working knowledge of consumer behavior and project management practices and applications; understands consultative sales and customers’ decision-making processes; possesses strong business acumen; thorough knowledge of the building community, energy customers and market segments; well-developed communication skills.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to retain existing customers and expand the Company’s customer base
  • Convert customer service opportunities into economically viable projects by securing customer commitments on energy saving products or services that contribute to the customer and the Company’s financial goals
  • Raise the profile of Southwest Gas in different business environments
  • Contribute to the economic development of the applicable service territory by leveraging presence with trade associations, chambers of commerce and economic development authorities
  • Understand the business of the customer and provide advice and recommend solutions to meet the energy needs of the customer by providing consultative services including strategic planning and analysis
  • Provide technical advice and coordinate internal and external resources to meet customer energy needs
  • Provide project management oversight related to the installation of natural gas facilities
  • Understand and inform customers of the impact of changes in tariffs and regulations as related to customer contracts
  • Communicate key energy and customer issues to staff and management; provide market intelligence including competitive opportunities and threats, trends and customer issues
  • Promote energy conservation awareness and implement energy conservation initiatives
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Regular and predictable attendance is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job 

 

SALARY DETAILS

Las Vegas: $84,585.00 - $122,684.00

Salary : $84,585 - $122,684
