Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Specialist to provide administrative and operational support across Human Resources at Sustainable Beef. This role supports recruitment, onboarding, training coordination, employee records, compliance, and general HR operations.
The HR Specialist reports directly to the HR Manager and works collaboratively with other HR team members to ensure HR processes are accurate, timely, and consistent. This position plays an important support role in delivering positive employee experience while maintaining compliance and supporting organizational effectiveness in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support recruitment efforts, including job postings, applicant tracking, interview scheduling, candidate communication, and recruitment documentation.
- Coordinate onboarding activities, including new hire paperwork, pre-employment requirements, HR system setup, and onboarding schedules.
- Assist with new hire orientation, required training coordination, and tracking of training completion records.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data.
- Support payroll, benefits administration, employment verifications, and routine HR documentation.
- Serve as a point of contact for routine Team Member HR questions and provide information on policies, procedures, and benefits.
- Assist with HR compliance, audits, inspections, internal reviews, investigations, and required recordkeeping.
- Provide cross-functional HR support, backup coverage, and assistance with special projects or additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Preferred
- Associate's degree or coursework in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Prior experience in an HR assistant, administrative, or office support role
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and onboarding processes
- Experience working in a manufacturing, processing, or industrial environment
- Bilingual skills preferred, including Spanish or other languages commonly spoken in the workforce
