What are the responsibilities and job description for the Founding Growth Lead - AI position at Career Renew?
We build autonomous AI systems that operate factories. The company connects fragmented systems inside manufacturing facilities — ERPs, MES, PLCs, sensors, spreadsheets, and custom tools — into a unified data layer, then deploys AI agents that optimize decisions across entire operations for profit.
Founded in 2024, our company is tackling one of the largest economic opportunities of the AI era: the massive gap between theoretical factory capacity and actual output. Most factories operate at only 30-40% utilization due to organizational overhead and operational complexity. We learn specific operations, identify root causes of downtime and yield loss, and deliver high-impact corrective actions directly to production teams.
Mission: We believe the world is dramatically underestimating the volume of manufactured goods needed for the AI era — from chips and data centers to power electronics and robotics. Their long-term vision is building a cybernetic, interconnected network of factories performing real-time optimization across the entire manufacturing supply chain, from raw materials to finished products.
Culture: We operate with an extremely flat structure where every voice matters. Team members have massive ownership over features and decisions, with independence to implement solutions however they see fit. The environment is collaborative, high-trust, and fun — the team genuinely cares about what they're building and are friends outside of work. While not "grind maxers," the expectation is flexibility and commitment when something important needs to get done.
The company recently signed its first six-figure contract with a precision aerospace manufacturer supplying SpaceX and Blue Origin, with more pilots in the pipeline.
We are looking for a Founding Growth Lead with 2 years of experience to own the entire go-to-market motion at our company — a seed-stage startup building autonomous AI systems for factories. This is a top-of-funnel focused role where your #1 KPI is putting qualified meetings on the calendar with operations, manufacturing, and C-suite buyers. You'll be the first dedicated GTM hire at a company backed by First Round Capital, with a real shot at shaping how an entirely new product category gets sold.
What will you be doing?
- Own all top-of-funnel pipeline generation — conferences, events, outbound experiments, and PLG-driven marketing
- Attend industry conferences and events (1–3x/month travel) to build relationships with manufacturing and operations buyers
- Run outbound experiments across channels (cold outreach, digital advertising, product-led growth) to find what works in a notoriously hard-to-reach industry
- Have dynamic, consultative conversations with factory operators to uncover pain points around downtime, yield loss, and margin — without a rigid playbook
- Build and iterate on the GTM stack and motion from scratch, with a path to owning post-sales and eventually building a team
Key Requirements
- 2 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, PE, or a similar background that demands sharp thinking on your feet and comfort in ambiguous, high-stakes conversations
- Comfortable with frequent travel (1–3x/month) for conferences and in-person meetings
- Exceptional communicator who can quickly synthesize complex operational problems and dynamically generate relevant solutions in conversation — no existing playbook to lean on
- Entrepreneurial and self-directed — able to build a GTM motion from zero with minimal structure
- Early-stage startup experience is a plus but not required; manufacturing/hardware background is helpful but not a dealbreaker
-
Backed by First Round Capital and Byers Capital The team comes from Neuralink, Apple, Tesla and AWS.
-
Already signed a six-figure contract with a precision aerospace manufacturer supplying SpaceX and Blue Origin — with more pilots in the pipeline. Real traction at pre-seed.
-
You're the first dedicated GTM hire — you'll own the entire motion from day one with a direct line to the founder and full autonomy to build the playbook.
-
Massive market tailwind — as AI drives demand for manufactured goods, factories are booked out for years but running at 30-40% utilization. Complement is selling into that gap right now.
-
Flat structure with real ownership — small team of 7 where every voice matters. The team genuinely likes each other and hangs outside of work.
