What are the responsibilities and job description for the Design Engineer position at Career Renew?
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 3-8 years of experience to join a small, high-output team building customer-facing product at one of the fastest-growing cybersecurity startups in the country. You'll be front-end leaning, shipping delightful software that real customers use daily, at a company that's gone from zero to mid-seven-figures ARR in under a year with only four engineers.
What will you be doing?
Own and ship large, customer-facing product features end-to-end — from design through production
Build beautiful, high-quality front-end experiences in React and TypeScript for MSPs and security teams
Drive product quality by understanding what customers care about and translating that into shipped software
Architect scalable solutions as the platform grows from 10K businesses to 10x that
Help build a new product skew for attack prevention, leveraging our unique data moat
3 - 10 years of experience in full-stack software engineering (front-end leaning)
Shipped customer-facing product features with real users
Experience at a product-focused company with strong design bar
Startup experience with large ownership scope (Nice-to-have)
Built AI/ML-powered features shipped to real customers in production. (Nice-to-have)
CS degree from U.S university (top-30 CS program)
Design degree with strong technical skills also considered
React, TypeScript, and front-end development expertise
Strong design sense — can show proof of visually polished work (portfolio, live product, recording, or GitHub)
NestJS or Node.js backend experience (Nice-to-have)
Must be in SF or willing to relocate; in-office 5 days/week
No visa sponsorship — must be authorized to work in US
Salary : $220,000 - $300,000
