What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator - 1st Shift position at Career Opportunities?
As a Forklift Operator at Steel Technologies, your main responsibility is to ensure material is being moved throughout the plant according to production standards. Safety is the utmost importance in this role and we’re looking for someone who we can count on to perform the job safely and efficiently. We depend on this position in order to maintain production flow and ensure daily goals are met.
1st Shift - Monday to Friday from 4:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. (overtime maybe required)
How you’ll contribute to our company:
- Operate forklift to transport materials to and from storage areas, work stations, and within other areas of assignment
- Load, transport, unload and stack materials in accordance with established procedures
- Maintain up-to-date forklift certification
- Communicate non-compliance and/or quality problems to supervisor and/or shift lead
- Clean and maintain housekeeping of finished goods storage area

- Ability to use tape measures, micrometers and calipers
- Ability to comply with safety rules and requirements
- Ability to pass and maintain forklift licenses
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
