A well established, independently owned public accounting firm in Redondo Beach is adding a senior tax accountant to its team. This is a hands on seat handling complex individual and business tax returns, with real weight given to returns involving real estate exchanges. Leadership is focused on developing people into manager and eventually partner roles from within, rather than hiring above the team.
Required Qualifications
• 3 to 6 years of experience in public accounting tax
• CPA license, EA license, or CPA candidate with at least two exam sections passed
• Experience with real estate clients and 1031 (like-kind) exchanges
• Comfortable owning complex individual and/or business tax returns without heavy oversight
• Able to work on site, full time
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and review complex individual and business tax returns
• Review and help develop the work of less experienced tax staff
• Communicate directly with clients on technical questions and open items
• Take ownership of assigned engagements and contribute from day one
