We are currently seeking a dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for a 12-week long-term substitute assignment supporting students in an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program. About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Speech Language Pathologist to provide speech and language services to preschool-aged students receiving Early Childhood Special Education services. This part-time position (22.5 hours per week, 3 days per week) will focus on supporting young learners with communication challenges that impact their educational participation and development.

The SLP will collaborate closely with ECSE teachers, related service providers, families, and support staff to help students develop the communication skills necessary for success in school and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations in compliance with IDEA and state standards.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
• Provide direct therapy and consultative services to preschool-aged students with speech and language impairments.
• Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and service logs to ensure legal and ethical compliance.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other related service providers to support student goals.
• Attend and participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and professional development activities.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic strategies and technologies, including AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
• Support inclusive practices and adapt interventions to meet the developmental needs of young children.
• Provide guidance and communication strategies to classroom staff and families to support carryover of skills across environments.

Qualifications

Required:

• Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
• Active state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech Language Pathologist
• Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) licensure
• State Teaching Credential (or ability to obtain)
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills

Preferred:

• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
• Experience working in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) settings
• Experience working in a public school setting and participating in the IEP process
• Familiarity with Medicaid billing practices and compliance
• Cultural competency in working with diverse student populations
• Clinical Fellows (CFs) encouraged to apply — CF supervision available
