Soils Special Inspector (ICC)

Hirani Engineering is seeking an experienced Soils Special Inspector to support upcoming field inspections in New Jersey. This position is a full-time project assignment (minimum six months) and requires an inspector who is currently credentialed and can be onboarded within an accelerated timeframe.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform soils special inspections in accordance with applicable codes, project specifications, and approved inspection procedures
• Maintain accurate, defensible field documentation (daily reports, observations, nonconformance documentation as applicable)
• Coordinate in real time with project management and site supervision to support schedule, access, and inspection readiness
• Communicate field conditions, findings, and required corrective actions professionally and promptly
• Adhere to safety requirements and Hirani quality standards at all times

Minimum Qualifications (Required)

• ICC Soils Special Inspector certification (active)
• Minimum three (3) years of directly related inspection experience
• Approved by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (NJDCA) (active/valid approval required)

Salary: $35–$42/hour (commensurate with qualifications and experience)
