Qualified Parking Structures Inspector (QPSI)

This is a critical role that ensures safety, longevity, and code compliance of parking structures in accordance with NYC Local Law 126. This opportunity is ideal for professionals who already hold an active QPSI certification.

As a QPSI, you will lead the inspection, assessment, and reporting process for parking structures across New York City. Your work will directly impact public safety, client compliance, and the long-term integrity of critical infrastructure. In this role, you will:

• Lead structural inspections of parking garages and related structures in full compliance with Local Law 126 and NYC DOB requirements
• Evaluate the condition of concrete, steel, and composite systems, identifying signs of structural deterioration or failure
• Prepare and submit high-quality technical reports, complete with field documentation, photographic evidence, and professional repair recommendations
• Serve as a technical liaison to clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders—clearly communicating findings, timelines, and next steps
• Ensure timely, accurate submission of DOB-compliant documentation and maintain awareness of regulatory updates
• Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to align inspection activities with broader deliverables and deadlines
• Contribute to internal quality assurance by reviewing reports and applying technical rigor to all deliverables
• Support junior team members through mentorship and technical guidance, reinforcing Hirani’s culture of continuous learning

Required Qualifications:

• Active QPSI certification issued by the NYC Department of Buildings
      – or –
• We will also consider licensed Professional Engineers (PEs) with a minimum of three (3) years of direct experience inspecting parking structures—such candidates may be eligible for QPSI sponsorship through Hirani.
• Strong knowledge of structural systems, deterioration mechanisms, and NYC DOB regulations
• Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical findings into actionable insights
• Proven ability to manage multiple inspection assignments, meet deadlines, and deliver exceptional client service

Preferred Qualifications:

• OSHA 30 certification
• Familiarity with Local Law 11 (FISP) and other NYC façade and structural inspection programs
• Experience in preparing and submitting DOB-compliant inspection reports and filings
   

Salary: $80k to $160k
