Airway Transportation Systems Specialist

This is a Navigation Technician-in-Depth (TID) Airway Transportation Systems Specialists (ATSS), and at this level are recognized as the subject matter expert in their field. All duties of an ATSS are tied to maintaining safe and efficient operating capacity of the vast and complex network of electronics systems required for the world's largest air traffic control and navigation system.

Specialized Experience: Experience at the next lower level,pay band FV-H/level III or FG/GS-12 equivalent,meets the minimum qualifications for this position as long as the experience supports the demonstrated abilities.

Specialized experience is experience with two or more of the following system(s): Instrument Landing Sys (ILS), (MARK 20\20A and MARK 1F includes Capture Effect, Null Reference, Side Band Glide Slope (GS)), , Very High Frequency Omnidirectional Range (VOR) (Second Gen 9996 Conventional/Doppler), Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) (Second Gen 9996, Thales 415, ASII 1118, Selex), Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN), Antennas (RTA2, Low Power TACAN (LPTA)), Non-Directional Beacon (NDB) (Nautel, Southern Avionics). Demonstrated Abilities:
