What You'll Be Doing
You'll be an important part of the litigation team, providing dedicated support to approximately 3-4 attorneys, including partners and associates.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Prepare, format, proofread, and organize pleadings, correspondence, and litigation documents, including preparing document templates and shells for attorney review
- Managing court deadlines, hearings, trial settings, and busy attorney calendars.
- Handling electronic filings in Texas state and federal courts.
- Maintaining organized electronic case files and document management systems.
- Coordinating with clients, attorneys, court personnel, experts, and outside vendors.
- Assisting with trial preparation, including exhibits, witness materials, and pretrial filings.

- Tracking important case developments, deadlines, and outstanding matters.
- Anticipating attorneys' needs and helping keep complex litigation matters moving forward.
- Collaborating with other legal assistants and paralegals to support the broader litigation team.
You'll have plenty of responsibility, but you won't be expected to do everything alone. This is an environment where teamwork matters.
About You
You're the person everyone relies on because nothing falls through the cracks.
You know litigation moves quickly, and you enjoy being the organized, dependable person who helps keep everything on track.
You take pride in producing polished work, anticipating deadlines, and making attorneys' lives easier. You communicate professionally, genuinely enjoy supporting others, and understand how much the little details matter.
Most importantly, you're looking for more than just another job. You'd love to find a team where your experience is appreciated, your contributions matter, and you can see yourself staying and growing.
A Quick Note About the Experience We're Looking For
This is a commercial litigation-focused position, and direct experience supporting complex business and commercial disputes is essential.
We're especially interested in candidates who have worked on matters involving business disputes, breach of contract claims, partnership and shareholder disputes, business torts, and other sophisticated commercial litigation.
Please note: While we value experience across all areas of litigation, backgrounds primarily focused on insurance defense, personal injury, medical malpractice, family law, or high-volume plaintiff-side litigation generally do not provide the specific experience required for this position.
We're looking for someone who already understands the pace, procedures, documentation, and complexities of commercial litigation and can confidently step into supporting attorneys handling these matters.
Direct commercial litigation experience is required, not simply general litigation experience.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3–5 years of recent, hands-on experience supporting complex commercial or business litigation matters in a law firm environment. General litigation experience alone will not satisfy this requirement.
- Strong experience with Texas state and federal court filings, procedures, and deadlines.
- Ability to independently manage litigation calendars, case-related tasks, and competing priorities.
- Experience drafting, formatting, and proofreading complex litigation documents and pleadings.
- Familiarity with legal document management systems, preferably iManage.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- A professional, detail-oriented, team-first approach.
- Trial preparation experience is highly preferred.
