What are the responsibilities and job description for the Geotechnical Engineer position at Career Collective?
We’re looking for a knowledgeable and dependable Senior Geotechnical Engineer to help lead our geotechnical efforts and take ownership of both technical work and project delivery. If you enjoy digging into complex soil conditions, guiding teams, and making sure clients get clear, accurate recommendations, this could be a great fit.
A Master’s degree is a plus, but not a requirement. What matters most is strong, practical experience and sound engineering judgment.
What You’ll Do
- Take the lead on geotechnical investigations and provide clear, thoughtful analysis and recommendations.
- Review, finalize, and stamp geotechnical reports, calculations, and design documents.
- Work on a variety of projects—foundations, retaining systems, slope stability, pavements, earthwork, and more.
- Visit sites as needed to support field staff, answer questions, and help resolve issues during construction.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, helping them grow their technical skills.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to keep projects running smoothly.
What We’re Looking For
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- 10 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Master’s degree preferred but absolutely not required.
- Strong understanding of geotechnical principles and comfort using common analysis tools.
- Someone who communicates well, writes clearly, and enjoys collaborating with others.
