What are the responsibilities and job description for the Supervisor of Maintenance position at CAREER CENTER?
Qualifications:
The Supervisor of Maintenance candidate shall have at least a high school diploma or equivalent. The successful candidate shall possess skills in management and knowledge in maintenance (including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.), operation of machinery/equipment including air handling and heating (with knowledge of computer assisted controls), possess human relations skills and be responsible for the supervision of duties for the maintenance staff and security/safety of the district's facilities and vehicles. The Supervisor of Maintenance candidate should have a knowledge of OSHA requirements and a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a school bus endorsement.
Duties:
The Supervisor of Maintenance is directly responsible to the Superintendent and coordinates duties and responsibilities though the Secondary Principal and Director of Adult Education. The Supervisor is directly responsible for providing a clean, safe and well maintained building and grounds for the students, staff and community at the Heartland Technical Education Center. The successful candidate shall provide leadership to the maintenance staff, make and/or recommend repairs on all district equipment as needed, observe and monitor all safety regulations on equipment and working conditions in coordination with the district's OSHA Coordinator, maintain the wastewater plant and monitor the drinking water daily and in coordination with the district's Water and Wastewater Consultant and EPA standards, prepare purchase requisitions and budgetary records as needed in cooperation with the Treasurer, ensure security of the building at all times, handle communications efficiently and professionally and complete other duties as assigned and as outlined in the job description. The Supervisor of Maintenance shall demonstrate dependability and good moral character.
Contract: Two-year classified administrative contract 2026-2027 Contract - 260 contracted days.
Salary: Appropriate placement on 2026-2027 Supervisor of Maintenance salary schedule based on education and experience.
