Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive personal care by assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor patients’ health status by observing vital signs, mental state, and overall well-being; promptly report any concerns to healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications accurately following care plans while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking to promote healthy living.
- Support clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices; perform heavy lifting when necessary while maintaining safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans that meet each client’s unique needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings; familiarity with long-term care environments highly preferred.
- Certifications in First Aid and CPR are required; additional certifications such as Alzheimer's or dementia care are a plus.
- Strong patient observation skills with the ability to monitor vital signs and recognize changes in condition promptly.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and experience handling sensitive patient information confidentially.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and assisting clients with mobility challenges; experience using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts is advantageous.
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills; experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is desirable.
