Reports to: Controller/VP
Terms: Full Time, Nonexempt
Location: Rocklin, CA - Hybrid after training
Salary Range: $20-$22/hr.
This entry-level role includes full training in key areas of accounting and administrative support. Responsibilities will include invoicing, payment processing, collections, and maintenance of accurate financial records.
Administrative
- Daily incoming mail
- Answer incoming calls from the answering service and assist with call routing
- Communicate with customers, agents, and underwriting personnel regarding policy changes
- Performs other duties as assigned
Accounting
- Code checks for deposit
- Generate and send invoices
- Process payments via check and electronic methods, and post to assigned policies
- Perform billing, collection, and reporting activities within specified deadlines
- Enter self-reporting payrolls
- Reconcile on-line payments and payroll reports
- Communicate with customers, agents, and underwriting personnel regarding billing inquiries.
- Follow up on late payments, send reminders, and attempt to collect outstanding balances
- Reconcile accounts using aging analysis reports and resolve payment discrepancies
- Process cancellation notices for nonpayment
- Performs other duties as assigned
Experience/Education
- High School or equivalent
- Accounting coursework or degree preferred but not required
- 1-2 years of experience in an accounting role preferred but not required
Competency
- Strong math aptitude and ability to comprehend mathematical problems
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly while maintaining accuracy of financial records
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in payments, billing, and account information quickly and accurately
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines
- Exceeds ethical standards
