Job description:
The Per Diem/Part Time Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for overseeing all clinical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing nursing staff, and maintaining quality standards of care. The DON will serve as a leader and mentor, supporting both staff and patients to achieve the best outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage the nursing staff, including hiring, training, and evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and accreditation regulations.
- Oversee patient assessments, care planning, and clinical documentation.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs.
- Collaborate with physicians, caregivers, and families to coordinate patient care.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan.
- MDS Nurse
- Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing leadership/management experience (home care preferred).
- Must have both clinical and home care experience
- Well versed in Medicaid and Medicare processes and documentation.
- Strong knowledge of state and federal home care regulations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Compassionate, professional, and dedicated to patient care.
