Senior HR Generalist
Location: Bakersfield, CA (with light travel to Fresno & Santa Clarita)
Salary: $80,000 – $90,000
Reports to: Executive Leadership
Direct Reports: HR Assistant
About Us
Care Predictor is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist on behalf of our client. Our client is a growing behavioral health organization providing intensive outpatient and mental health services across California and Arizona. With multiple locations and a rapidly expanding footprint, their mission is rooted in delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals and families navigating substance use and behavioral health challenges.
Our client is entering an exciting phase of growth and are looking for an HR leader who can build, scale, and strengthen their people operations and culture.
The Opportunity
This is not a maintenance HR role—this is a build-and-scale leadership opportunity.
We’re seeking a hands-on HR Leader who will:
- Create structure where needed
- Strengthen communication across departments
- Champion a healthy, accountable, and drama-free culture
- Partner closely with leadership to scale operations effectively
You’ll be the bridge between leadership and staff, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment across a 250 employee organization spanning CA and AZ.
Key Responsibilities
Culture & Organizational Development
- Build and reinforce a positive, accountable workplace culture
- Address and proactively mitigate workplace conflict, gossip, and misalignment
- Establish clear communication channels and expectations across departments
- Drive engagement initiatives and employee feedback loops
HR Operations & Compliance
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations with support of an HR Assistant
- Ensure compliance with California and Arizona employment laws
- Manage employee relations, investigations, and performance management
- Provide guidance to leaders on best HR practices
Clinical & Regulatory Support
- Oversee and support Workers’ Compensation programs
- Ensure HR readiness for audits and surveys, including: The Joint Commission and California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS)
- Partner with clinical leadership to ensure compliance and operational readiness
People Strategy & Growth
- Help scale HR infrastructure to support continued company growth
- Improve onboarding, retention, and employee lifecycle processes
- Provide clarity and guidance for employees on where to go with concerns or issues
- Support leadership development and accountability across teams
What You Bring
- 5 years of HR experience (behavioral health or healthcare strongly preferred)
- Experience supporting multi-site organizations
- Strong knowledge of Workers’ Comp, employee relations, and compliance
- Experience with regulatory surveys (Joint Commission, DHCS preferred)
- Proven ability to build structure, not just maintain it
- Strong interpersonal skills—able to influence, coach, and build trust
- Ability to navigate and cultivate positive team culture
