Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Per Diem Hospice Aide to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in hospice care, ensuring comfort and dignity during their end-of-life journey. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, offering companionship, and providing emotional support to both patients and their families. The Hospice Aide will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care in a respectful and empathetic manner.
Duties
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and mobility.
- Provide meal preparation and assistance with feeding as needed.
- Support patients in maintaining personal hygiene and comfort.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to patients and their families.
- Help with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Monitor patient conditions and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Assist in lifting or transferring patients safely using appropriate techniques.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss patient care plans and updates.
Experience
- Previous experience in caregiving roles such as assisted living, nursing home, or memory care is preferred.
- Familiarity with hospice care principles is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care.
- Ability to lift and move patients safely while adhering to proper safety protocols.
